Sailers from Europe and from overseas will fill the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce

Last Update: October 3rd, 2018

Sail faster – international know-how will speed up your boat

On the 12th of February 2011, sailers from Europe and from overseas will fill the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
With – presently – 14 speakers from the countries of Australia, Germany, England, Ireland and the United States the 2nd International Yacht Forum in Hamburg is set to become an exciting and – especially for racing yacht owners – an extremely useful program. The speakers represent the accumulated know-how of the international racing scene – experience from the Volvo Ocean Race, the America’s Cup – but also from the everyday races around the world.

3 reasons to participate in the forum are:

  • The partners of this forum are the market leaders in yacht racing.
  • The speakers are internationally established and experienced specialists.
  • The closing ceremony will take place in a great location with a cute music group.

Goal: know-how transfer and participation

The offshore racing scene is undergoing continuous change, thus demanding permanent updates on design, technical development, rating rules and race formats. The global Yacht industry in co-operation with racing teams and ambitious yacht owners is researching and developing new technologies with the aim to accelerate sailing speed. The International Yacht Forum of the German Owners Association is providing a platform for the exchange of this information for owners as well as for the yacht industry, where new trends are presented as well as important topics being discussed.

The first International Yacht Forum took place in Hamburg at the Chamber of Commerce in February 2010, attracting well over 220 participants from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, the US, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK.
