Asia’s largest boating event hosted in Hong Kong for the 15th impressive year
The Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show 2015, the region’s largest Marine Showcase, is set to be hosted this labour day weekend, 1 – 3 May 2015, at the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club. Held annually and in its 15th year, the event expands this year to also include Hong Kong Gold Coast’s first Mystery Boat Charity Regatta, a fun build-and-race challenge which will help raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
This year the Boat Show will continue to celebrate the theme of Affordable Luxury, emphasing the accessibility and diversity of Hong Kong’s coveted and ever-growing boating lifestyles – from affordable, fun weekend cruisers for under HKD$100,000 to the indulgent, pure luxury of European mega yachts exceeding HKD$50 million – the huge event offers something for every yachting enthusiast. As the biggest boating event in the region, over HKD$1 billion dollars in boats and gear will be displayed, it’s a one- stop-shop to capture the boating lifestyle.

Boating is on the rise in Asia, in 2015 the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show boasts yachts made specifically for the Asian market. Italian made-to-measure motor yacht builder Sanlorenzo will display the immaculate 32 metre Sanlorenzo SL106 Special Edition, offering Italian heritage and style with an understanding of Asia’s discerning tastes. Those with an appreciation of European sophistication and refined detail will revel in the personalisation options offered by Sanlorenzo.
At over 62 foot, the Moody 62 is the largest sailboat on display at this year’s show. Fun For All The Family
This year’s Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show offers a fun day out for the whole family. Boating enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their family along to enjoy the family- friendly entertainment, food and the first ever Mystery Boat Charity Regatta.
Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club hosts Food Street, the boat show’s most delicious destination. Mouth-watering Western and Chinese meals and snacks will be on offer all day in Food Street. Highlights include a mouth-watering selection from the BBQ & Grill and vegetarians can enjoy a tempting black bean burger. Food Street is steps away from the Heineken Beer Garden where thirsty visitors can grab an ice cold Heineken Draft Beer.
Kids will work up an appetite in the Children’s Entertainment Zone. Costing only $100 per child, parents can secure a day pass for unlimited access to games and entertainment. There’s hours of fun to be had by children of all ages including three bouncy castles, creative face painting and the magic of balloon twisting. The fun will continue at home, each child will be gifted with a boat show handy flag as a souvenir to remember their day.
Mystery Boat Charity Regatta
Hong Kong Gold Coast’s first Mystery Boat Charity Regatta will raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation. This fun build-and-race challenge will see teams have an adventurous time as their handyman skills and know-how are tested to the limit. Participants will be required to design, build and race a boat using only the materials provided by the Organiser, then sail it around a designated course.
Hong Kong corporations have been invited to submit teams to participate, at a charge. All funds raised from entry fees and sponsorship will be pledged to the Children’s Cancer Foundation without any deduction of costs.
