The 2012 35th annual St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show® will once again transform the Progress Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin and Albert Whitted Park into the largest boat show on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Taking place from November 29 to December 2, the show will offer four days of fun for boaters of all ages.
Attendees will find an impressive display of powerboats, sailboats, marine electronics and products and an extensive schedule of educational marine seminars and kids fishing clinics presented by the non-profit Hook The Future. At the Author’s Corner, attendees can enjoy a selection of marine-related books and opportunities to meet the authors face-to-face. With refreshments and live musical entertainment along the expansive waterfront area, the show is a vibrant experience of everything marine.
“As the largest boat show on Florida’s West Coast, we continually strive to bring our guests a fun and exciting boat show,” said Steve Sheer, director of marketing / advertising / sponsorships with Show Management, the company that co-owns, manages and produces the show.
“The show has been a part of the St. Petersburg community for 35 years and we continue to look for ways to introduce new features to engage attendees and elevate their experience.”
The show’s smartphone app, MyBoatShow, has received some enhancements for this boat show season, including a new search feature allowing attendees to search for boats by name; an upgraded “favorite” feature enabling users to see which boats they favored at other Show Management produced boat shows; and a contact form renamed “Connect,” which allows users to connect with Show Management, access their YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages, and subscribe to the Show Management e-newsletter.
Convenient transportation includes plenty of onsite parking at the municipal parking garages surrounding the show grounds, in addition to the Downtown Looper Trolley, which stops on First Street along the Mahaffey Theater.
The St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show is managed and produced by Show Management and sponsored by Lincoln, SAIL Magazine, Hook The Future, Goslings, Budweiser, BoatQuest.com and Sail America.
