AsBAA appoints Sarah Kalmeta to Board of Governors

AsBAA, Asia’s non-profit representative trade body for business and general aviation has announced that Sarah Kalmeta will join its Board of Governors, based in Hong Kong.

She joins the association after several months of work with the authorities in Hong Kong to address airport access issues.

At the Accessing Airports Across Asia Education Session on Tuesday at ABACE, Sarah Kalmeta, most recent addition to the AsBAA Board of Governors shared her experience in pushing for change in Hong Kong on the issues relating to slots, parking and noise restrictions.

“I became involved with AsBAA because the issues with airport access in Hong Kong and certain hubs of the wider region were directly affecting my work. AsBAA has gained traction with the authorities that individual companies cannot and via that platform, as an association we have been able to action significant change leading to progress on the issues relating to slots and parking at Hong Kong International Airport. AsBAA is now working with the Environmental Protections Department, Hong Kong to address some of the outdated noise restrictions. AsBAA takes a constructive and cooperative approach that the authorities respond well to and results in improvements for the members. I’ve seen first-hand the improvements that can be achieved for the industry via AsBAA and I’d urge more industry players to join the association and get involved”.

AsBAA Chairman, Charlie Mularski said,

“AsBAA is very happy to have Sarah on board, she has been instrumental in driving forward the changes in Hong Kong and will form a core part of our team going forward”.
